A short guide to prayer.
To begin, read with a desire for greater understanding, the following passages: Matt 6:9-13; Luke 11:2-4, Luke 11:8-13.
Jesus’ teachings on prayer:
First, give recognition and reverence to God from who we need governance.
Make requests:
- Daily needs
- Forgiveness of sins dependent on our ability to forgive others, i.e. a new heart
- Help! Recognition of our insufficiency and inability. Help to overcome temptations, sin, and evil. Help, to keep our new hearts pure.
Additional advice:
Be persistent. Do not be afraid to ask. Ask, seek, knock. Ask for the Holy Spirit. Remember that God desires to give us good gifts.
