Making Beautiful Things Happen

Today’s Scripture

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10 KJV

Today’s Word

It was Winston Churchill who said, ‘those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.’ Life can change when you screw-up. We’ve all had a few in our lives. Some minor. Some major. We try not to dwell on them. The way ahead often seems inseparable from the past if we hold on to our hurts and past failures. How can we take the negatives and turn them into positives? How can we be encouraged by the hope of a brighter tomorrow?

While we must learn from our failures, we must also learn from our successes. Successes are worth repeating. We should not forget these. What about that memorable vacation spent near the beach? The fun and games at the park? That time you held hands strolling around the harbor?

Pictures are worth a 1,000 words. Can all the fun times be erased? If the bad times seek to stay resident, so should the good. Make life a thing of beauty not a thing you constantly bemoan.

Yes, try not to screw up. But if you do, remember God’s grace is sufficient. Claim it. Receive it. And may your days be blessed to repeat more of your successes rather than failures.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, keep us in perfect peace as we keep our minds stayed on You and ‘making beautiful things happen.’ Forgive us of our faults. Help us to learn not just from our failures but from our successes. And we’ll be sure to trust and give You all the praise for the blessings in our lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.
