That’s my story and I’m sticking by it
Forgiven–that’s who I am, pardoned, given a second chance
Forgiven–given a new lease on life
Forgiven–treated the way I don’t deserve
Forgiven–with a clean slate, without reminders, without revenge
Forgiven–that’s who I am, that’s who I’ve become
So, create in me that clean heart and renew a right spirit within me, cast me not a way from thy presence and restore the joy of your salvation
Help me to go and sin no more
Help me to remain free from the chains which seek to imprison, seek to bind, seek to suffocate the new life of freedom in service to You
Ever be my rock, my fortress, my shield, my guide
Make me to know love a fresh, in humility, in service, in gratitude, in being your child
Forgiven–through your blood, may it not be in vain
Forgiven–through your sacrifice, a promise of eternity
Forgiven–help me to live as one, everyday, forgiven
Can you share with another how you have forgiven? How you have dealt with hurt, anger and pain? Lord, help us to forgive as You forgive. Free us from racism, emotional and sexual abuse, hatred, sibling rivalries, greed, gossip and backbiting. Help us to come together, to unite in love, knowing that we are forgiven
